Treatment goals:

  • Immediate improvement in condition
  • Lasting freedom from symptoms
  • Teaching habits that keep clients well
  • Helping clients develop stretching and movement routines to maintain pain-free optimum performance
  • Helping clients be more in touch with their bodies and more expressive as performers

My therapeutic approach involves a variety of forms of bodywork, which I move between based on the issues presented and on the preferences of the client. We may use part of a session doing stretching, part on the table doing neuromuscular massage, and part working with performance posture. Sometimes the disorder responds to very light touch and sometimes to deep-tissue work. There is no single modality of treatment that is right for every condition or client, so flexibility is key. The following are the licenses, certifications and additional training and experience relevant to my practice. My commitment to clients is to be constantly learning and evolving my skills to provide more treatment options.

  • Licensed Massage Therapist in Ohio and Kentucky
  • Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB)
  • Graduate SHI Medical Massage School, Lebanon OH
  • B.A. Psychology, Michigan State University
  • Internship at the Cincinnati V.A. Hospital Chronic Pain Clinic
  • Additional training in Alexander Technique, Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki

Sessions are booked for an hour, although I sometimes schedule 1/2 hour sessions when meeting more frequently with a client on an acute disorder. Sliding scale fee accommodation is available for full-time music students.
